Aptitude Superintendent 2

Job Summary

JE Dunn's technology integration division, Aptitude, is seeking an Superintendent 2 to manage complex low voltage and intelligent integration projects from start to finish in Kansas City. This role oversees trade partners, schedules, budgets, quality, and safety across a range of low voltage systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of safety culture and enforce an injury-free work environment.
• Manage low voltage technology subcontractors, suppliers, scheduling, and production for assigned projects.
• Coordinate design and construction efforts to meet constructability, quality, financial, and technical standards.
• Create, manage, and adjust project schedules in coordination with the Aptitude Project Manager.
• Track project budgets and costs using project management systems.
• Coordinate with all trades to ensure conduit, pathways, and back-box infrastructure are properly installed before cabling and device installation.
• Configure and program project software for testing and troubleshooting.
• Oversee pre-punch activities and support project closeout with owners and governing authorities.
• Identify and manage project risks and recommend solutions for team review.
• Partner with project management to identify schedule and cost impacts from project changes.

Required Experience

• High School Diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred.
• 5+ years of construction experience required.
• 5+ years of experience with Division 8/23/25/27/28 low voltage systems required.
• 3+ years of field supervision experience required.
• Thorough understanding of low voltage systems including structured cabling, access control, video surveillance, fire alarm, AV, building automation, nurse call, RTLS, and network electronics.
• Proficiency in MS Office and construction management technology platforms.
• Ability to apply Lean process and philosophy to field operations.
