Aptitude Superintendent 2

Job Summary

JE Dunn’s Aptitude technology integration group is seeking a Superintendent 2 to manage fairly complex construction projects or major project segments from planning through closeout. The role coordinates field operations, subcontractors, materials, equipment, schedule, safety, quality, and project documentation.

Project Details

Aptitude provides technology integration services supporting the complex demands of modern building projects. The Superintendent 2 will oversee stand-alone projects or significant portions of larger assignments.

Responsibilities

• Manage subcontractors, field staff, suppliers, site logistics, work plans, and workflow.
• Direct project safety, quality, production, scheduling, risk management, and closeout activities.
• Lead daily, trade, progress, owner-architect-contractor, and project review meetings.
• Develop and maintain schedules with the Project Manager and coordinate responses to project changes.
• Track materials, equipment, timecards, costs, documentation, inspections, and project reports.
• Coordinate procurement, self-perform operations, quality assurance, staffing, buyout, and project pursuits.
• Communicate with owners, designers, authorities, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
• Support recruiting and promote a diverse, inclusive, injury-free workplace.

Required Experience

• High school diploma or GED required; a construction management, engineering, or related bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• At least 5 years of construction experience, including 3 years of field supervision experience.
• Working knowledge of construction means and methods, project processes, scheduling, project management and accounting software, construction technology, and MS Office.
• Experience applying Lean principles is preferred.
• Intermediate ability in communication, presentations, layout, rigging and crane flagging, self-perform productivity, cost management, and schedule-impact analysis.
• Valid unrestricted driver’s license required.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work in varying weather conditions and physically active field environments.

Compensation and Benefits

The position is classified as Professional Non-Union and includes JE Dunn’s benefits package. Travel or relocation may be required, and project needs may require non-traditional working hours.
