Job Summary
JE Dunn’s Aptitude group is seeking a Superintendent 2 to lead complex intelligent integration and low-voltage technology work in Houston. The role manages field execution, trade partners, sequencing, safety, quality, and project delivery for assigned scopes.
Project Details
Projects involve low-voltage and intelligent building systems, including structured cabling, access control, video surveillance, fire alarm, audiovisual, building automation, nurse call, infant security, RTLS, phone systems, and network electronics. The position supports work across multiple vertical markets and may include Division 8, 23, 25, 27, and 28 systems.
Responsibilities
- Manage assigned projects or major portions of projects from planning through closeout.
- Coordinate clients, design teams, authorities, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal project staff.
- Develop work plans, manage schedules and project risks, and monitor production, costs, quality, and safety.
- Coordinate conduit, pathways, back-box infrastructure, cabling, device installation, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Lead safety and quality efforts, maintain project records, approve timecards and reports, and support punch and closeout activities.
- Engage trade partners, support project pursuits and change negotiations, and collaborate on project reviews.
Required Experience
- High school diploma or GED required; a construction management, engineering, or related bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- At least 5 years of construction experience and 5 years working with Division 8, 23, 25, 27, or 28 systems.
- At least 3 years of field supervision experience; project management experience is preferred.
- Working knowledge of low-voltage systems, construction methods, project processes, drawings, schedule impacts, and labor productivity.
- Ability to configure project software for testing and troubleshooting, conduct presentations, use MS Office, and apply Lean practices.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in varying weather conditions, with frequent standing, walking, climbing, bending, and reaching.
Compensation and Benefits
The position is classified as Professional Non-Union and includes the company’s professional benefits package. Travel or relocation and non-traditional hours may be required to meet project needs.
