Job Summary
JE Dunn’s Aptitude group is seeking a Traveling Safety Specialist 1 to support field safety operations on routine construction projects. The role is suited to an early-career safety professional who can follow established procedures, recognize hazards, and collaborate with project teams.
Project Details
The position supports construction projects involving Aptitude’s technology integration services and modern building systems.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate field safety activities and conduct site inspections, audits, orientations, and safety meetings.
- Document hazards, recommend corrective actions, and track abatement through company safety systems.
- Monitor contractor and subcontractor safety programs, drug and alcohol policy compliance, and site incentive programs.
- Assist with incident investigations, root-cause reviews, injury follow-up, and return-to-work coordination.
- Support field leaders and chair project safety committee activities as assigned.
Required Experience
- Zero to two years of construction or related experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in safety, health, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
- Working knowledge of federal, state, local, and company safety requirements.
- Strong written and verbal communication, hazard recognition, collaboration, MS Office, and construction technology skills.
