Assistant MEP Project Manager

Job Summary

Mortenson is seeking an Assistant MEP Project Manager to support mechanical, electrical, and plumbing scopes from preconstruction through client acceptance. The role partners with project leadership, coordinates project teams, and supports safe, timely, and high-quality delivery.

Responsibilities

• Manage cost control, budgets, contracts, project estimates, schedules, pay applications, and change requests.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, trade partners, buyout activities, and project meetings.
• Support proposals, contract administration, quality planning, commissioning, closeout, and client requirements.
• Lead 3-D coordination to resolve design and installation conflicts before construction.
• Guide project, field, and engineering staff while providing assignments, mentoring, and career development support.
• Perform project management duties on smaller-scope projects as needed.

Required Experience

• Bachelor's degree in construction, civil, architectural, mechanical, or electrical engineering, or equivalent experience.
• At least five years of related experience, preferably with a mechanical or electrical contractor.
• Experience supporting complex projects and managing multiple priorities.
• Working knowledge of construction law, business practices, Microsoft Office, project applications, and relevant web tools.
• Current driver's license and ability to travel 100%.

Compensation and Benefits

• Base salary of $102,000-$137,700 per year, with location-based adjustments in select markets.
• Eligibility for Mortenson's incentive plan.
