Assistant Project Manager

Job Summary

Mortenson seeks an Assistant Project Manager to support projects from estimating through client acceptance, while coaching and guiding project team members.

Responsibilities

• Support project cost controls, financial documentation, estimating, scheduling, scope coordination, and subcontract administration.
• Help prepare client proposals, award subcontracts, and lead project buyout and trade coordination meetings.
• Guide project engineers and field engineers, assign work, and support team development.
• Coordinate subcontractors and suppliers, contribute to safe and timely delivery, and manage quality requirements.
• Take on project manager duties for smaller projects when assigned.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in construction, civil or architectural engineering, or construction management; equivalent experience may be considered.
• At least five years of related experience and demonstrated ability to support complex projects.
• Current driver’s license, intermediate Microsoft Office and project application skills, and familiarity with construction law and business practices.
• Strong organization, communication, customer service, and team leadership skills.
• Ability to travel up to 100%.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary range is $102,000–$137,700, with location-based increases for certain offices. Benefits include medical, prescription, vision and dental coverage, 401(k) with company match, paid leave, insurance, tuition reimbursement, and other wellness and family support programs.
