Assistant Project Manager

Job Summary

Mortenson is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support project delivery from estimating through client acceptance, while leading and developing project team members.

Project Details

Mortenson delivers work across sports, renewable energy, data centers, healthcare, and other construction and EPC markets.

Responsibilities

• Support estimating, scheduling, cost control, financial documentation, contract administration, and subcontract awards.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, project meetings, buyout activities, and trade partner budgets.
• Guide project engineers and field engineers while assigning work, providing coaching, and supporting career development.
• Help deliver projects safely and on schedule, including serving as project manager on smaller-scope work.
• Implement quality plans and maintain customer performance requirements.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in construction, civil or architectural engineering, construction management, or equivalent experience.
• At least five years of related experience and demonstrated ability to support complex projects.
• Current driver’s license and intermediate Microsoft Office, project, and web application skills.
• Knowledge of construction law, business practices, company policies, inclusive workplace practices, and effective customer communication.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary is $102,000-$137,700, with higher ranges for specified offices in Denver, Chicago, Seattle, Portland, and Washington, D.C. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) matching, paid leave, employer-paid insurance, mental health resources, tuition reimbursement, adoption assistance, and gym membership discounts.
