Assistant Project Manager - Design Services

Job Summary

Interstates is hiring an Assistant Project Manager for its Design Services team to support industrial electrical, engineering, instrumentation, controls, automation, and operational technology projects. The role offers training and a path toward project management leadership.

Project Details

Projects support industrial facilities and involve coordination among engineers, designers, project managers, clients, and trade contractors. The position is based in the Sioux Falls, South Dakota, or Sioux Center, Iowa office, with travel of up to 20%.

Responsibilities

• Support project managers and field leadership with project coordination and management activities.
• Plan, organize, and track engineering deliverables and operate project control systems.
• Create, update, and communicate CPM schedules and coordinate crew planning.
• Manage RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes, project communications, and monthly review materials.
• Analyze project controls data, assist with problem solving, and support alternate delivery approaches.
• Prepare estimating takeoffs and change-order analysis.
• Participate in client meetings, coordinate with trade contractors, and assist with material and subcontract procurement.
• Promote the company's safety culture.

Required Experience

• Associate or bachelor's degree in construction engineering, business administration, engineering technology, or construction management.
• Ability to organize and prioritize project work while adapting project systems as needed.
• Strong team-building, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Comfort presenting information to clients, peers, and managers.
