Assistant Project Manager - Healthcare Construction

Job Summary

McCarthy Building Companies is seeking an Assistant Project Manager in Austin to support healthcare construction projects and develop project management, cost-control, and team-leadership capabilities.

Project Details

This role supports commercial healthcare construction through the project life cycle, coordinating with project management, field supervision, owners, and trade partners.

Responsibilities

• Support project accounting, schedules, subcontracts, purchase orders, and staff responsibility assignments.
• Coordinate administrative needs for the Project Superintendent and provide guidance to project staff and engineers.
• Review change requests, change orders, payment applications, and potential claims.
• Track job costs, analyze labor performance, prepare quantity reports, and support project financial reporting.
• Lead site quality-management activities, project closeout, and applicable safety and equal employment programs.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least three years of construction experience on relevant projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods and experience managing field staff and owner relationships.
• Willingness to relocate within the region and contribute effectively in a team environment.
• Demonstrated commitment to jobsite safety.
