Assistant Service Project Manager

Job Summary

Support senior project managers in coordinating service projects from shipment preparation through installation, completion, and client sign-off. The role is based primarily at project sites, with time in the office and production facilities.

Project Details

TAS engineers and manufactures packaged modular mechanical systems in Houston for data centers, power applications, and commercial and industrial utility systems. Projects involve equipment assembly, shipment, site installation, and commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Help plan project handoffs, review scopes with clients and contractors, and coordinate production readiness and shipment details.
• Arrange materials, labor, and site resources for installation, completion work, and precommissioning.
• Attend site coordination and commissioning meetings, support subcontractor scheduling, and resolve supplier scope, commercial, and schedule matters.
• Coordinate BIM issue resolution, site safety training, remediation planning, and weekly site reports.
• Travel to project sites to address customer needs and coordinate field teams.

Required Experience

• Field Engineer experience supporting mechanical or electrical equipment installation or maintenance.
• Understanding of industrial mechanical or electrical equipment.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent equipment installation or service experience. Trade school, military, or other mechanical or electrical training may substitute.
• Microsoft Office proficiency, strong organization and problem-solving skills, and interest in developing leadership and team management abilities.
• Ability to travel to job sites and occasionally move materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Steel-toe boots and safety glasses are required in shop areas and at jobsites.
