Job Summary

Garney is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to support heavy civil utility construction projects and help lead field operations.

Project Details

This role is based in Suffolk, Virginia and focuses on heavy civil utility construction. Travel is required as project assignments dictate.

Responsibilities

• Set jobsite safety expectations and promote safe field execution.
• Develop six-week look-ahead schedules and track project progress.
• Coordinate with project management and review job costs and labor quantities.
• Prepare daily and periodic field reports.
• Oversee quality control and subcontractor performance.
• Train craft workers and mentor field engineers.

Required Experience

• At least 10 years of experience in heavy civil utility construction or a closely related industry.
• Progressive construction experience and willingness to travel are required.
