Job Summary

Barton Malow Builders is seeking a senior General Superintendent / Director of Field Operations to lead field delivery and regional operational excellence for its Southeast healthcare construction market.

Project Details

The role supports large, complex healthcare projects valued at $500 million or more across Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Florida.

Responsibilities

• Direct and mentor project superintendents and field teams while coordinating with project executives, owners, designers, and subcontractors.
• Establish project build strategies, site logistics, phasing plans, schedules, and trade sequencing.
• Lead field safety compliance, quality execution, inspections, permitting coordination, and commissioning readiness.
• Support estimating and pursuit activities, scope development, bidding, cost forecasting, change management, and project meetings.
• Resolve field issues, maintain labor harmony, strengthen client relationships, and develop future superintendent talent.

Required Experience

• At least 15 years of healthcare construction experience on large, complex projects.
• Experience leading healthcare projects valued at $500 million or more.
• At least 8 years supervising project teams and trades.
• Regional experience, contractor knowledge, and strong negotiation skills with subcontractors, designers, and owners.
• OSHA 30 certification.
• Willingness to travel throughout the Southeast region.
