Job Summary

Barton Malow Builders is seeking a Senior Construction Project Manager to lead complex commercial building projects and support its Central Virginia operations. The role combines project delivery, team leadership, client relations, and technical construction management.

Responsibilities

• Direct procurement activities, including bidder development, bid strategy, scope definition, bid evaluation, and subcontract negotiations.
• Develop project schedules, site logistics, cash flow forecasts, manpower plans, and constructability reviews.
• Coordinate mobilization, staffing, safety planning, emergency readiness, punchlist completion, owner equipment, and MEP or BIM activities.
• Manage general conditions, trade budgets, cost reporting, changes, payment activity, profitability, and contractor cost items.
• Lead project meetings, mentor staff, coordinate RFIs and submittals, maintain project documentation, and manage architect, engineer, owner, and code-official relationships.
• Support agency approvals and business-development efforts, including proposals and presentations.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field.
• At least 10 years of general contractor or construction management experience.
• Demonstrated success leading teams, managing complex projects, and developing strong client relationships.
• Strong knowledge of construction operations, safety, scheduling, cost control, and collaborative project leadership.
