Concrete Superintendent South Central District

Job Summary

Kiewit is seeking a Concrete Superintendent to represent the company in the field and direct construction operations across its South Central District. The role coordinates clients, inspectors, subcontractors, craft personnel, and project teams while maintaining safe, efficient, and quality-focused execution.

Project Details

The position supports heavy civil, transportation, water resource, and utility infrastructure work across Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, and Arkansas. Projects may include mass grading, drainage, paving, roads, highways, bridges, excavation, and related site development.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate schedules, procurement inputs, material control, staffing, equipment, and field work breakdowns.
• Lead execution, quality control, subcontractor performance, construction costs, and compliance with contract and design requirements.
• Monitor safety orientations, field coaching, crew organization, staffing ratios, wage compliance, budgets, and labor hours.
• Advise project teams on progress, risks, schedule impacts, cost factors, and remaining scope.
• Work overtime and weekends as needed and support assignments at varying project locations.

Required Experience

• At least 5 years of construction experience, including 3 or more years supervising multiple grading crews.
• Experience with roads, highways, bridges, maintenance of traffic, erosion control, and safety training.
• Working knowledge of Trimble and machine grade control, demolition, excavation, lime, flex base operations, and local materials.
• High school diploma or GED preferred; effective communication and ability to follow written and oral directions required.
• Bilingual proficiency is a plus.
