Construction Project Engineer Sports & Entertainment Market

Job Summary

Barton Malow Builders is hiring a Project Engineer to support high-profile Sports and Entertainment construction projects across North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia. You'll work alongside Superintendents, Project Managers, design partners, and trade contractors to keep fast-paced projects on track and executed to the highest standards.

Project Details

This role sits within Barton Malow's growing Sports and Entertainment market and covers projects throughout the Carolinas and Georgia, with assignments determined by project need.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to resolve and track project issues, serving as a liaison with architects, engineers, and owners.
• Support Superintendents in monitoring trade partner performance and schedule adherence.
• Process and track submittals and RFIs to ensure timely review and compliance.
• Prepare meeting agendas, document discussions, and lead coordination meetings as needed.
• Assist with plan review and approvals across multiple jurisdictions in NC, SC, and GA.
• Support schedule development, maintenance, and updates throughout the project lifecycle.
• Review and evaluate contractor change order quotations and process change orders accurately.
• Promote and enforce corporate safety policies and a proactive, people-first safety culture.
• Assist with project closeout documentation and turnover requirements.

Required Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• 1–5 years of professional experience in construction, including internships.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage documentation across established processes.
• Effective communicator comfortable collaborating across diverse project teams.
• OSHA 30 certification preferred.
• VDC/BIM experience is a plus.
• Willingness and ability to travel and work throughout NC, SC, and GA.
