Construction Project Manager

Job Summary

Barton Malow Builders is hiring a Construction Project Manager for its growing Richmond project delivery team. This role will manage complex commercial construction work and coordinate project planning, field execution, costs, contracts, and client relationships.

Project Details

The Richmond office serves healthcare, higher education, and sports and entertainment clients across Central Virginia. Representative work includes healthcare renovations, university athletic facilities, and major raceway improvements.

Responsibilities

• Lead procurement, bidder outreach, pre-bid activities, scope development, bid reviews, and subcontract execution.
• Build project schedules, site logistics plans, cash-flow projections, manpower plans, and constructability reviews.
• Coordinate jobsite mobilization, safety planning, emergency procedures, punch-list completion, equipment, and mechanical/electrical coordination.
• Manage budgets, cost reporting, change management, trade commitments, cash flow, and project profitability.
• Facilitate project meetings and oversee RFIs, submittals, documentation, closeout, agency acceptance, and architect/engineer communications.
• Support labor relations, business development, proposals, presentations, and repeat-client opportunities.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field.
• At least six years of general contractor or construction management experience.
• Healthcare construction experience is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to support projects throughout the Greater Richmond Region.
