Job Summary
Weeks Marine is seeking an entry-level Field Engineer to join its Dredging Division on the Gulf Coast. This rotational role (19 days on / 9 days off, up to 84 hours per week) involves working aboard dredging vessels and supporting all aspects of field engineering, survey, and quality control for marine dredging operations.

Weeks Marine is one of North America's largest marine, dredging, and tunneling contractors, operating across inland waterways and offshore sites in both the Pacific and Atlantic. The Gulf Coast region serves as the base for this position, with projects spanning government and private sector clients.
Responsibilities
- Assist with project layout, file design, and dredge cut and fill planning.
- Provide accurate vessel positioning to keep dredging operations within permitted limits.
- Collect and process hydrographic and topographic survey data for volume calculations.
- Monitor and report dredge production using proprietary analysis tools.
- Coordinate survey activities with the Project Engineer to maintain schedule.
- Manage survey subcontractors and ensure dredging quality control.
- Maintain and inventory survey and assigned field equipment.
Required Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Ocean Engineering, Construction Management, or related field — OR 1-3 years of dredging or survey industry experience in lieu of degree.
- Ability to read contract drawings and perform earthwork volume computations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Trimble, and Hypack software is preferred.
- Must be able to work an 84-hour week on a 19-on/9-off rotation and live aboard a vessel during rotation.
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently.
