Craig Mine Front Line Supervisor Field Operations

Job Summary

Kiewit Mining Group is seeking a Front Line Supervisor to lead field operations at the Craig Mine. This mid-level role directly supervises equipment crews and sets expectations for safe, productive, high-quality work.

Project Details

The position supports surface mining and heavy civil operations within Kiewit's mining district. Work may involve coal, metal/non-metal mining, and related infrastructure activities at changing job locations across North America.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily work for crews of up to 30 equipment operators.
• Assign work, support hiring and training, conduct performance assessments, and address personnel issues.
• Coordinate with engineering, maintenance, safety, quality, contractors, and suppliers.
• Help develop work plans, manpower and equipment requirements, budgets, and short- and long-range schedules.
• Inspect field conditions, resolve operational issues, control costs, and maintain safety and quality standards.
• Provide safety awareness and training while keeping work aligned with technical requirements and project schedules.

Required Experience

• At least three years of relevant Front Line Supervisor, Shift Superintendent, General Foreman, mining, or heavy civil construction experience.
• Familiarity with MSHA operations.
• Strong communication, organization, leadership, initiative, and teamwork skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work shifts, nights, weekends, overtime, changing site conditions, and travel on short notice.
• Willingness and ability to relocate to job sites.

Compensation and Benefits

Base compensation is $90,000-$120,000 per year. Full-time employees may receive medical, dental, vision, wellness, employee assistance, life, disability, retirement matching, and paid time off benefits.
