Job Summary

Kiewit Foundations Co. is seeking a Deep Foundations Superintendent to lead field operations, crews, and project execution for specialty geotechnical construction work. This role requires a hands-on leader who can drive safety, quality, productivity, schedule performance, cost control, and team development.

Project Details

The foundations business delivers transportation and industrial geotechnical work across the United States, including drilled shafts, micropiles, driven piles, auger-cast piles, soil mixing, stone columns, support of excavation, anchors, tie-backs, and other ground improvement solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Direct craft operations through general foremen and foremen while monitoring safety, quality, productivity, and schedule adherence.
  • Coordinate field engineering, subcontractors, fellow superintendents, project staff, and company leadership.
  • Help plan schedules, staffing levels, material quantities, and equipment needs.
  • Support compliance with drawings, specifications, company procedures, safety requirements, and workplace standards.
  • Address employee conflicts, scheduling challenges, and field problems while escalating issues appropriately.

Required Experience

  • At least 8 years planning, scheduling, and managing deep foundation or ground improvement operations.
  • At least 5 years of superintendent-level supervisory experience.
  • Broad knowledge of foundation equipment such as drills, concrete pumps, and batch plants, including troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Proficiency in one or more specialty areas such as pile driving, auger-cast piles, small-diameter shafts, or micropiles.
  • Strong understanding of ground improvement, structural deep foundations, and support of excavation methods.
  • Effective organization, communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as project demands require and to operate at varied project locations and conditions.

Compensation and Benefits

Base compensation is $95,000-$160,000 per year, with an additional 10% Field Premium for project-site assignments. Full-time employees receive medical, dental, vision, wellness, life and disability insurance, retirement matching, employee assistance programs, and paid time off.
