Job Summary
Kiewit Offshore Services is seeking an entry-level Equipment Engineer to support construction and mining equipment operations at its large offshore fabrication yard in Ingleside, Texas. The role focuses on fleet planning, maintenance programs, equipment reliability, and day-to-day operational support.
Project Details
The position supports Kiewit’s 550-acre offshore fabrication facility near Corpus Christi, where teams build complex jackets and topsides for offshore oil and gas projects. Work includes both office and field environments and may involve varied locations and conditions.
Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule, budget, and monitor construction and mining equipment fleets.
- Improve equipment availability through preventive maintenance, inspections, and failure analysis.
- Manage material handling, procurement, parts inventory, logistics, and equipment documentation.
- Prepare planning and paperwork for critical lifts.
- Support maintenance technicians by ordering parts, scheduling crews, and coordinating quality and safety activities.
- Maintain communication with supervisors and management and complete specialty equipment projects as assigned.
- Follow applicable health, safety, environmental, and company requirements.
Required Experience
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in Diesel/Automotive Technology, Heavy Equipment Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or Construction Management.
- At least one year of equipment experience is preferred.
- Experience with equipment planning, scheduling, and budgeting is preferred.
- CAD modeling knowledge is preferred.
- Strong organization, communication, time management, attention to detail, and prioritization skills.
- Ability to work safely in equipment yards and construction environments, including outdoor conditions and overtime or weekend schedules when required.
- Reliable attendance and professional interaction with supervisors, employees, and teams.
