Field Engineer 1 (Union)

Job Summary

JE Dunn Construction is seeking an entry-level Field Engineer to work hands-on with craft crews on active construction projects in Kansas City, learning field execution fundamentals and company best practices from the ground up.

Responsibilities

• Work with tools and perform self-perform tasks as an embedded member of a craftsmen crew.
• Participate in all aspects of the project safety plan and contribute to an injury-free culture.
• Complete punch lists and routine field tasks under the direction of a supervisor.
• Build relationships with foremen, journeymen, superintendents, and subcontractors.
• Learn and apply Lean construction practices in daily work.
• Participate in weekly work plan meetings and other project coordination activities.
• Develop understanding of equipment use, crane flagging, rigging, and layout skills.

Required Experience

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field preferred.
• 0–2 years of construction experience preferred; equivalent relevant experience considered.
• Participation in a federally required training or apprenticeship program preferred, depending on location.
• Proficiency in MS Office; strong verbal and written communication skills.
