Field Engineer

Job Summary

PCL Construction Services is seeking a Field Engineer to support data center construction projects in the Northwest. The role is based in the Seattle District and offers exposure to complex regional work, with opportunities to collaborate across field and project teams.

Project Details

The position supports a growing portfolio of data center projects primarily located in Washington and Oregon.

Responsibilities

• Support workforce planning, field inspections, orientations, hazard corrections, and jobsite safety practices.
• Maintain project document control and assist with RFIs, submittals, changes, billings, and trade contractor coordination.
• Help supervise self-perform work, including crew planning, labor tracking, and quantity reporting.
• Coordinate third-party inspections and site reviews.
• Help develop, implement, and monitor quality plans and Inspection and Test Plans.
• Identify field issues and maintain productive relationships with project partners.
• Coach field engineers, students, and interns.

Required Experience

• Associate or bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Entry-level field engineering or coordination experience is preferred; relevant internships may qualify.
• Knowledge of construction specifications, methods, self-perform and subcontracted scopes, equipment, temporary work, and scheduling practices.
• Ability to apply construction principles, communicate clearly with trade contractors and project stakeholders, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and construction-related software.

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary is $82,000-$101,500 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
