Field Engineer

Job Summary

Tutor Perini Civil is hiring a Field Engineer focused on structural steel to support construction activities at its Old Saybrook, Connecticut project site.

The role supports civil infrastructure construction, with a focus on structural steel.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate field materials, equipment, crews, and subcontractor activities against project plans and schedules.
• Review drawings, specifications, quantities, costs, production, and schedule performance; identify risks and recommend corrective actions.
• Track timecards and cost coding, support project financial reporting, and coordinate permits, inspections, and construction documentation.
• Support quality assurance and safe work practices, including conducting job hazard analyses and participating in safety meetings.
• Provide technical input to work plans, schedules, and design drawings.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, structural engineering, construction management, or equivalent.
• Five years of engineering experience and substantial field interface experience.
• Ability to read drawings, lead meetings, and communicate effectively.
• Basic knowledge of Procure or equivalent, Bluebeam, HCSS, and proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Supervisory experience preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

Expected salary range is $125,000-$165,000, depending on experience.
