Field Engineer

Job Summary

Tutor Perini is hiring a Field Engineer to support planning, coordination, and field execution for civil construction at its Newark AirTrain project site.

Project Details

The role supports a bus terminal project at Newark International Airport, with transportation infrastructure work and coordination involving transit agencies and public authorities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare construction and safe work plans, engineering drawings, and shop drawings; coordinate reviews with subcontractors.
• Assist the Superintendent with field operations, work planning, sequencing, and subcontractor coordination.
• Track installed quantities and production, and maintain daily reports, inspection records, RFIs, submittals, and as-built documentation.
• Monitor quality and safety requirements and participate in inspections.
• Coordinate with project staff, inspectors, design professionals, utility companies, transit agencies, and local authorities.
• Support project closeout, including punch lists and as-built drawings.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Five or more years of civil construction experience; field or internship experience is acceptable.
• Familiarity with earthwork, utilities, concrete, paving, civil drawings, specifications, schedules, surveying equipment, and construction methods.
• Microsoft Office proficiency, including Excel and Word.
• Transportation infrastructure and public agency experience, AutoCAD/Civil 3D or field layout software, and knowledge of civil inspection and testing requirements are relevant qualifications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
