Field Engineer - Electrical Construction

Job Summary

Kiewit's Mass. Electric Construction Co. is seeking a Field Engineer to support electrical construction operations, project engineering, controls, estimating, and field coordination. The role is suited to a mid-level construction professional who can work collaboratively in demanding jobsite environments.

Project Details

The position supports industrial electrical construction work through the MEC Industrial District. The primary location is Irvine, with additional potential assignments in San Diego, Chandler, Gilbert, Phoenix, Maryville, Caldwell, Hutchinson, and El Portal. Teams may relocate based on project availability and career development needs.

Responsibilities

• Interpret construction documents and support field crews with layout, surveying, quantity tracking, work plans, and as-built information.
• Coordinate material deliveries, work groups, subcontractors, schedules, and field operations.
• Support jobsite safety activities, including hazard analyses, safety reviews, toolbox meetings, and training.
• Prepare takeoffs, engineering calculations, technical documents, purchase orders, subcontracts, daily reports, RFIs, and project correspondence.
• Assist with cost tracking, schedule updates, change orders, estimating, and project records.
• Provide field support and supervise subcontractor operations.

Required Experience

• At least 3 years of construction field experience.
• Experience in engineering and leading engineers.
• Undergraduate degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field.
• Ability to read and identify discrepancies in plans, specifications, and contract documents.
• Strong communication, organization, time management, initiative, ethics, and safety awareness.
• Ability to access construction sites in varied climates and work overtime or weekends when required.

Compensation and Benefits

Base compensation is $95,000-$105,000 per year. Full-time employees receive medical, dental, vision, wellness, employee assistance, life and disability insurance, retirement matching, and paid time off.
