Job Summary
Kiewit is seeking a Field Engineer to support construction of Portland's Bull Run Filtration Facility, a major heavy civil water treatment project serving the region's drinking water needs.
Project Details
The $1.24 billion facility will process up to 135 million gallons of water daily. Work includes site preparation, excavation, sediment and contaminant removal, and construction of inlet structures, an ozone contact basin, and related treatment infrastructure. The project is scheduled for completion in March 2028 and is based on-site in Portland, Oregon.
Responsibilities
- Interpret design documents and support field crews and craft supervision.
- Measure installed work, verify quantities, and maintain as-built information.
- Help develop work plans, work packages, hazard analyses, and field layout data.
- Coordinate materials, deliveries, work groups, schedules, and daily site activities.
- Support timesheet processing, safety meetings, jobsite reviews, and training.
- Supervise field operations while promoting safe and productive execution.
Required Experience
- At least two years of construction field experience, preferably in heavy civil or water and wastewater work.
- Undergraduate degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related discipline.
- Ability to interpret plans, specifications, and contract documents and identify discrepancies.
- Strong communication, organization, initiative, time management, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work on active construction sites, travel or relocate as needed, and work overtime or weekends when required.
Compensation and Benefits
Base salary is $85,000-$110,000. Full-time employees are offered medical, dental, vision, wellness, employee assistance, life and disability insurance, retirement matching, and paid time off.
