Field Engineer II

Job Summary

Support field commissioning, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of mechanical and electrical systems for packaged modular projects, working with project teams and customers.

Project Details

TAS designs and manufactures modular systems for data centers, power, and commercial and industrial utility applications. Projects are delivered and commissioned at customer sites in the United States and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Lead and document mechanical and electrical commissioning, equipment startup, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance.
• Service pumps, cooling towers, centrifugal chillers, variable frequency drives, motors, and power distribution equipment.
• Compile operations and maintenance information, prepare red-line drawings, and support final IOM manuals and project handoffs.
• Coordinate with project, engineering, production, quality, service, and customer teams; support factory assembly and quality checks.

Required Experience

• Significant field experience in construction support, startup, repair, and maintenance.
• Ability to read drawings and schematics, work independently at job sites, and use Microsoft Office.
• Exposure to at least one PLC or building controls brand and experience verifying compliance with ASHRAE, ASME, and relevant codes.
• HVAC trade school or apprenticeship training is preferred; military training or technical experience may substitute.
• Must be able to work in field construction conditions, travel extensively, maintain a safe driving record, and have or obtain applicable safety certifications, including OSHA 10 General Construction and NFPA-70E.
