Field Engineer III

Field Engineer III supporting equipment installation and commissioning.

TAS seeks a Field Engineer III to support installation, startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of packaged mechanical, electrical, and control systems at customer sites.

Project Details

TAS manufactures modular systems in Houston for data centers, power, and commercial and industrial utility applications. Projects and customer sites span domestic and international locations.

Responsibilities

• Start up, maintain, and service pumps, cooling towers, centrifugal chillers, and variable frequency drives.
• Install and repair power distribution equipment, motors, motor control centers, and variable speed drives.
• Direct and document field commissioning, troubleshoot equipment, and support quality checks.
• Prepare red-line drawings, communicate field feedback, and compile operation and maintenance information and manuals.
• Coordinate with project teams, clients, contractors, and engineering and production personnel.

Required Experience

• Significant field experience in construction support, startup, repair, and maintenance.
• Experience starting up and troubleshooting Eaton or Allen-Bradley variable frequency drives, centrifugal chillers, and cooling towers.
• Ability to read drawings and schematics, work independently onsite, and travel extensively.
• Exposure to at least one PLC or building controls brand and experience verifying compliance with ASHRAE, ASME, and other applicable codes.
• HVAC trade school or apprenticeship preferred; military training or technical work experience may substitute.
• Must hold or be able to obtain applicable safety certifications, including OSHA 10 General Construction and NFPA 70E; safe driving record required.
