Job Summary

The Weitz Company is seeking a traveling Field Engineer to support industrial construction operations and assist with field supervision. The initial assignment is in Council Hill, Oklahoma, with advancement potential toward a Superintendent role.

Project Details

This position supports industrial construction projects and requires travel according to project requirements. The initial project assignment is in Council Hill, Oklahoma.

Responsibilities

  • Support project planning, scheduling, cost reporting, and responses to requests for information.
  • Assist the Superintendent with equipment planning, subcontractor coordination, site logistics, meetings, and schedule updates.
  • Monitor subcontractor and project performance, including quality, costs, schedule, and field execution.
  • Track delays, protect jobsite materials and equipment, and maintain organized site conditions.
  • Coordinate routine communication with owners, architects, subcontractors, and project team members.
  • Recommend design or execution changes that may improve quality, cost, maintenance, or schedule performance.

Required Experience

  • One to two years of Project Engineer, construction, or related internship experience.
  • Industry-related education or coursework is preferred.
  • Ability to interpret construction documents and understand construction methods and materials.
  • Strong communication, organization, initiative, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook, with the ability to learn project-specific software.
