Field Engineer- Weeks Marine Construction-Houston, TX 1

Job Summary

Weeks Marine is seeking a Field Engineer to support marine construction operations in the South and Gulf Region. The role reports to the Project Manager and combines field leadership, engineering support, contract administration, scheduling, safety, and project reporting.

Project Details

Weeks Marine delivers marine, dredging, tunneling, and related construction work across inland waterways and offshore environments. Field assignments may occur at varied locations and in changing site conditions.

Responsibilities

• Interpret plans and specifications, calculate quantities, support surveying and layout, and compile as-built information.
• Prepare work plans, work packages, job hazard analyses, daily records, RFIs, correspondence, and project reports.
• Coordinate crews, materials, deliveries, schedules, subcontractors, and field operations.
• Participate in toolbox talks, safety reviews, training, and other jobsite safety activities.
• Perform takeoffs, basic engineering calculations, drafting, cost tracking, purchase order and subcontract support, and change-order preparation.
• Provide data and documentation to project stakeholders, customers, vendors, agencies, and management.

Required Experience

• One to three or more years of construction field experience.
• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related discipline.
• Ability to read and identify discrepancies in engineering plans, specifications, and contract documents.
• Strong communication, organization, initiative, ethics, safety awareness, and attention to detail.
• Ability to access all areas of a construction site and work independently or as part of a team.
• Willingness to travel, relocate, work overtime and weekends as project needs require.

Compensation and Benefits

Base compensation is $66,000-$77,000 per year. Full-time employees receive medical, dental and vision coverage, wellness and employee assistance programs, life and disability insurance, retirement benefits with matching, and paid time off.
