FieldOffice Engineer Central District (Entry Level)

Job Summary

Kiewit is hiring an entry-level FieldOffice Engineer for its Central District. This position combines field operations, office engineering, and estimating support on heavy civil and transportation projects.

Project Details

The Central District delivers highways, airports, mass transit, water and wastewater facilities, canals, dams, tunnels, rail, utilities, bridges, grading, drainage, aggregate production, and paving across the Rocky Mountain, Midwest, and south-central regions. Assignments may be in cities or small towns and will be determined before the start date.

Responsibilities

• Interpret construction documents, prepare work plans, and support field crews.
• Inspect work quality, coordinate material deliveries, and assist with surveying, timesheets, job hazard analyses, and schedule reporting.
• Participate in jobsite safety meetings, reviews, and training while helping supervise field and subcontractor operations.
• Complete quantity takeoffs, engineering calculations, drafting, cost-system updates, project records, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and as-built documentation.
• Support estimating through bid-document reviews, production and cost analysis, risk assessment, and material takeoffs.

Required Experience

• Entry-level candidate with an undergraduate degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field preferred.
• Infrastructure or heavy civil experience is preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Strong communication, organization, initiative, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
• Must be willing to travel, relocate, and work rotating schedules, shifts, overtime, and weekends as project needs require.

Compensation and Benefits

Base compensation is $82,000-$91,000. Full-time employees receive medical, dental, vision, wellness, employee assistance, life and disability insurance, retirement matching, and paid time off.
