Job Summary

Barton Malow Builders is seeking a senior General Superintendent and Director of Field Operations to lead field delivery and regional operations for its Southeast healthcare construction market.

Project Details

The role supports large, complex healthcare projects valued at $500 million or more across Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Florida, with responsibility for one or multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Direct field execution, safety compliance, quality, productivity, and coordination across major healthcare projects.
• Develop project build strategies, logistics plans, phasing plans, and schedule execution.
• Coordinate subcontractors, trades, permits, inspections, authorities having jurisdiction, and commissioning activities.
• Support project budgeting, forecasting, bidding, scope development, change management, and project meetings.
• Provide field reporting, resolve issues with owners and design teams, and maintain alignment with project objectives.
• Mentor superintendents and field teams while promoting innovation, labor harmony, and operational excellence.
• Support healthcare-market pursuits, sales efforts, client relationships, and regional business development.

Required Experience

• At least 15 years of healthcare construction experience on large, complex projects.
• Experience leading healthcare projects valued at $500 million or more.
• At least 8 years supervising project teams and trades.
• Regional experience, contractor knowledge, and strong negotiation skills for resolving field issues.
• OSHA 30 certification.
• Willingness to travel throughout the Southeast region.
