Grading Foreman - Traveling

Job Summary

Granite Construction is hiring a traveling Grading Foreman to lead grading and excavation crews on regional heavy civil construction work.

Project Details

Projects include highways, streets, drainage ditches, and dams across Washington, Oregon, and Idaho.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise workers operating equipment to excavate, dump, scrape, and spread material.
• Lay out site boundaries from reference points and check graded surfaces for slope and curvature.
• Depending on the assignment, oversee paving, fine grading, or culvert and drainage work.

Required Experience

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Two to four years of job training to learn the work techniques and information needed for average performance.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, judge distances and slopes, follow instructions, and maintain safe work practices.
• Ability to work in dusty conditions, perform physical tasks, and lift up to 50 pounds.

Compensation and Benefits

Union-represented hourly position paying $30.00-$60.00 per hour, with wages governed by the applicable union agreement. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, flexible spending plans, and wellness programs. Benefits for CBA-covered positions are governed by the applicable agreement.
