Ground Improvement Superintendent

Job Summary

Kiewit Foundations Co. is seeking a Ground Improvement Superintendent to lead field operations for specialty foundation and geotechnical construction projects. The role oversees safety, quality, productivity, schedule performance, cost control, and crew development.

Project Details

Projects involve transportation and other major infrastructure work using ground improvement methods such as jet grouting, rigid inclusions, soil mixing, stone columns, vibro-compaction, compaction grouting, permeation grouting, and deep dynamic compaction. Assignments may be located across the United States.

Responsibilities

• Direct general foremen, foremen, and craft workers while managing field productivity, safety, quality, and schedule adherence.
• Coordinate field engineering, craft labor, subcontractors, superintendents, and project leadership.
• Support schedule planning and determine labor, material, and equipment needs.
• Resolve personnel, scheduling, and field execution issues and enforce company procedures.

Required Experience

• At least 8 years of experience planning, scheduling, and managing ground improvement operations.
• At least 5 years of superintendent-level supervisory experience.
• Broad knowledge of ground improvement equipment, including drills, concrete pumps, and batch plants, with the ability to troubleshoot equipment quickly.
• Expertise in one or more specialty ground improvement disciplines is required.
• Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and teamwork skills; willingness to work overtime, weekends, and at varying project locations.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary is $130,000-$170,000 per year, with an additional 10% field premium when assigned to project sites. Full-time employees receive medical, dental, vision, wellness, employee assistance, life and disability insurance, retirement matching, and paid time off.
