Health, Safety, and Environment Coordinator

Job Summary

Nordic PCL Construction is seeking a Health, Safety, and Environment Coordinator to support construction safety and environmental programs across Hawaii. The role is available in Honolulu, Kailua-Kona, or Lihue and offers an opportunity to build experience in project-level HSE operations.

Responsibilities

• Support implementation of project HSE plans, environmental requirements, regulatory standards, and safe work practices.
• Help deliver project-specific training, identify hazards, and develop corrective action plans.
• Perform HSE inspections, track corrective actions, and verify equipment and tool inspection records.
• Assist with emergency response planning, project security, incident notifications, and investigations.
• Review trade contractor documentation and monitor compliance with safety expectations.
• Provide HSE updates and trends to project teams while building effective relationships with stakeholders and craft workers.

Required Experience

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety.
• Working toward a safety designation.
• At least one year of experience in a related industry.
• Ability to learn occupational health and safety regulations, environmental legislation, construction processes, and HSE procedures.
• Strong written, verbal, presentation, problem-solving, conflict-resolution, and stakeholder relationship skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and willingness to adopt new technology.

Compensation and Benefits

Estimated salary is $70,000-$85,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
