Kansas Hoisting Superintendent 1 (Lift Director) (Union)

Job Summary

JE Dunn is seeking a union Hoisting Superintendent 1 (Lift Director) to supervise project hoisting operations, coordinate crane and rigging resources, and support safe, efficient lift execution in the Kansas City area.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate crane assembly, disassembly, staffing, logistics, sequencing, and daily crew activities.
• Develop project hoisting, lift, rigging, and critical lift plans using site visits, drawings, and project requirements.
• Coordinate crane locations, ground stabilization, crane movements, and competing lift schedules.
• Lead safety briefings, job safety analyses, trade meetings, and coordination with project teams, owners, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Oversee equipment inspections, maintenance, repairs, documentation, and compliance with manufacturer requirements.
• Conduct operator evaluations and recruit, interview, and hire local crane operators as needed.
• Monitor hoisting budgets and costs when assigned.

Required Experience

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of this requirement.
• At least five years of mobile crane assembly/disassembly, operation, inspection, maintenance, and repair experience.
• At least three years of supervisory experience in the mobile crane field.
• Advanced knowledge of 3D Lift Plan and critical lift plan development and oversight.
• Working proficiency with Microsoft Office and strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Valid, unrestricted driver's license required; must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work in varying weather conditions.

Compensation and Benefits
