Labor Foreman 2 (Union) Self Perform

Job Summary

JE Dunn Construction is hiring a Union Labor Foreman 2 for self-perform field operations in Kansas City. This working foreman role combines hands-on tool use with crew supervision, covering concrete prep and placement, demolition, material handling, buck hoist operation, and traffic control.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise labor crews for portions of projects or small standalone projects.
• Create, communicate, and achieve crew production goals using Lean principles such as daily stand-ups and pull planning.
• Coordinate preplanning activities including crew size, schedule, materials, and manpower.
• Manage safety plans, tool box talks, job hazard analyses, and SIMS reporting to maintain an injury-free environment.
• Coordinate trade work, material deliveries, and usage of project resources — internal and external.
• Track and submit timecards, document activities, productions, and crew sizes.
• Support quality assurance and control planning for assigned scopes of work.
• Assist with MOC and equipment analysis.

Required Experience

• High School Diploma or GED required; vocational or technical degree in a related field preferred.
• 3+ years of commercial construction experience required.
• 2+ years of field supervision experience required.
• Intermediate communication skills (verbal and written) and proficiency in MS Office.
• Knowledge of self-perform operations, labor productivity, crane flagging, and rigging.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work non-traditional hours as project needs demand.
