Job Summary

Kiewit is seeking a Lead Field Engineer Electrical to provide technical and field leadership on complex electrical construction work. The position connects engineering, project management, subcontractors, craft supervision, and clients while supporting safe, high-quality, schedule-conscious project delivery.

Project Details

Assignments may involve large-scale industrial, power, utility, renewable energy, data center, and other heavy electrical construction projects. This is a 100% travel position working on a turnaround schedule; relocation is not required.

Responsibilities

  • Review electrical plans, specifications, contracts, and applicable construction requirements.
  • Support installation of distribution equipment, substations, switchgear, transformers, controls, and related systems.
  • Coordinate RFIs, design changes, constructability reviews, materials, subcontractors, and field documentation.
  • Track quantities, production, costs, schedules, forecasts, changes, and closeout records.
  • Prepare work plans, daily reports, RFIs, and as-built documentation.
  • Provide technical direction to field teams and craft supervision while mentoring field engineers and coordinators.
  • Promote coordination among engineering, construction, safety, and quality groups.

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, construction engineering, construction management, or a related discipline.
  • At least five years of electrical construction or field engineering experience.
  • Background with industrial, power, utility, renewable energy, data center, or other major electrical projects.
  • Working knowledge of electrical systems, construction practices, industry codes, drawings, and specifications.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organization, safety, and deadline-management skills.
  • Availability for overtime, weekends, changing work locations, and varying site conditions as needed.
