Job Summary
Kiewit Nuclear Solutions is hiring mid-level Mechanical, Electrical, Civil/Structural, and Chemical Design Engineers to support nuclear engineering, fabrication, and construction teams across North America. The role focuses on safe, practical, and cost-effective designs for emerging nuclear and related infrastructure work.
Project Details
The team supports carbon-free small modular reactors, Department of Energy science and security programs, commercial nuclear projects, power utilities, industrial facilities, renewable energy, and infrastructure work. Engineering opportunities are associated with offices in Lenexa, Kansas; Houston, Texas; Knoxville, Tennessee; and Itasca, Illinois, with other locations potentially considered.
Responsibilities
- Develop and support design engineering solutions for nuclear and related construction projects.
- Collaborate with module fabrication, construction, project management, and internal technical teams.
- Deliver accurate work while meeting project schedules, quality expectations, and safety requirements.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and project stakeholders.
Required Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil/Structural, or Chemical Engineering is required.
- Five to ten or more years of design engineering experience.
- Department of Energy or commercial nuclear experience is highly desirable.
- Professional Engineer licensure is highly desirable.
- Strong communication, initiative, ethics, integrity, teamwork, and independent work skills.
- Reliable attendance and the ability to work overtime or weekends when required.
