Mechanical Superintendent

Job Summary

PCL Construction is seeking a Mechanical Superintendent in Phoenix to lead field execution, safety, scheduling, quality, cost control, and stakeholder coordination for Civil West projects.

Responsibilities

• Implement site safety plans, documentation practices, and environmental requirements in coordination with the project manager.
• Supervise, coach, train, and mentor project personnel, trades, and subcontractors while monitoring productivity, quality, and safety.
• Coordinate field engineers, estimators, clients, consultants, labor representatives, and subcontractors to resolve conflicts and maintain project progress.
• Develop and manage project schedules, critical-path activities, project execution plans, and resource-loaded three-week lookaheads.
• Review contracts, control budgets and forecasts, identify risks, and support project profitability and quality objectives.
• Lead site meetings, maintain project records, and ensure construction follows drawings, specifications, and contract requirements.

Required Experience

• Journeyman certificate or related undergraduate or engineering degree.
• NCSO designation required; Gold Seal program enrollment preferred.
• Five years of progressive field-supervision experience preferred, including successful construction workforce supervision.
• Strong knowledge of construction materials, specifications, methods, scheduling, cost reports, labor productivity, and material, labor, and equipment takeoffs.
• Ability to coordinate multiple work scopes, interpret contracts, mitigate risk, lead meetings, resolve conflicts, and build stakeholder relationships.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and internal construction operations systems.
