MEP Superintendent

Job Summary

Oversee coordination, scheduling, and installation of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and fire protection systems. Work with project teams and subcontractors to ensure building systems are coordinated, installed, tested, and accepted.

Project Details

Coordinate building systems and trade interfaces across areas such as underground utilities, ceilings and interstitial spaces, walls, rooftops, life safety, power, medical equipment, and low-voltage systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop installation sequences, system milestones, testing plans, submittal schedules, and closeout procedures.
• Review shop drawings, submittals, subcontractor scopes, proposals, budgets, and payment requests for coordination and contract compliance.
• Track system completion through installation, controls, testing, and acceptance; monitor field work against contract requirements and schedules.
• Coordinate subcontractors, consultants, inspectors, and other trades, and facilitate meetings to resolve design and installation issues.
• Support preconstruction reviews, estimating, VDC coordination where applicable, change-order evaluations, and temporary system planning.
• Inspect off-site equipment and materials when needed, document closeout, and assist with owner acceptance.

Required Experience

• Degree in engineering, construction management, or architecture, or equivalent experience.
• Extensive supervisory-level field construction experience and a technical background in electrical or mechanical trades.
• Knowledge of OSHA requirements, construction contracts, and craft labor assignments.
• Strong English communication and jobsite problem-solving skills.
