Job Summary

Barton Malow — a nationally recognized general contractor with over 100 years of history — is hiring an experienced Project Manager to lead complex construction projects in the Metro Detroit market, with a strong preference for candidates who bring healthcare construction experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee full project lifecycle from preconstruction through closeout, including procurement, planning, field operations, cost management, and team leadership.
• Develop bidding strategy, manage bid documents, conduct pre-bid meetings, evaluate bids, and write subcontracts including design-assist and professional services agreements.
• Initiate and manage complex project schedules, site logistics plans, cash flow projections, and constructability reviews.
• Establish and oversee the jobsite safety culture and emergency crisis procedures.
• Monitor project costs, manage general conditions budget, oversee change management process, and maintain cost tracking in Prolog.
• Facilitate project team meetings, manage RFI and submittal workflows, coordinate with Architect/Engineer, and interface with code officials for agency acceptance.
• Support business development efforts including RFP responses and presentations for new projects.

Required Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience in GC/CM construction management.
• Healthcare construction experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with Procore preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
