New Orleans Construction Manager Southeast

Job Summary

Kiewit's Southeast District is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to provide senior field leadership on power and heavy civil projects across the Southeast. This role oversees daily underground utility and power generation construction activities, leading teams of Superintendents, Foremen, and craft labor to deliver projects safely, on schedule, and within budget.

Project Details

The Southeast District operates across a broad geography from Maryland to Florida and west to Louisiana, with a portfolio spanning highways, airports, water and wastewater facilities, tunnels, dams, and power generation projects including combined cycle power plants. Kiewit fosters team mobility, placing leaders where projects demand.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all on-site construction activities, ensuring alignment with project goals, schedules, and specifications.
• Manage material logistics, EPC coordination, and site management for seamless project execution.
• Formulate, review, and enforce detailed construction plans and outage schedules.
• Coordinate commissioning activities through successful transition to operational status.
• Serve as the primary client point of contact on-site, delivering timely updates on progress, financials, and risks.
• Lead on-site construction management meetings and collaborate with Project Managers, schedulers, controllers, and engineers.
• Supervise general and logistics contractors and prepare comprehensive project status and risk reports.

Required Experience

• 20+ years of construction experience, with at least 10 years in a Superintendent or senior leadership role.
• Power generation industry experience strongly preferred; combined cycle power plant background is a plus.
• Demonstrated skills in safety compliance, planning, contract administration, and leadership.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently.
• Ability to work across multiple locations and adapt to varying site conditions.
