Job Summary

Kiewit Power Delivery Engineering is seeking an Overhead Transmission Engineer Manager in Raleigh to lead engineers and designers delivering high-voltage transmission and distribution work nationwide. The position combines technical direction, project management, staff development, and construction support for overhead line programs.

Project Details

The team supports 12 kV to 500 kV overhead transmission projects in traditional design and EPC settings, serving utility, renewable energy, industrial, and related power markets. Work spans routing, structure and conductor selection, detailed engineering, procurement support, and field construction assistance.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and resource a team of transmission engineers and designers.
• Direct conceptual studies, constructability reviews, detailed design, quality control, and technical approvals.
• Review plan and profile drawings, structure and foundation design information, material lists, specifications, and construction packages.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, staffing, deliverables, compliance, and technical or construction risks.
• Coordinate with civil, structural, environmental, substation, procurement, and construction teams.
• Support RFIs and field issue resolution while improving engineering standards and processes.
• Travel to construction sites, client offices, and supplier facilities as assignments require.

Required Experience

• Bachelor's degree in civil, electrical, mechanical, or related engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
• At least 10 years of overhead transmission engineering experience and demonstrated team or project leadership.
• Active Professional Engineer license required.
• Proficiency with PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE; PLS-TOWER experience preferred.
• Knowledge of MFAD, LPILE, foundation engineering recommendations, NESC, ASCE, IEEE, and RUS standards is preferred.
• Experience managing direct reports, resource planning, quality, deadlines, and client or construction interfaces is preferred.
• Strong communication, organization, safety, ethics, and problem-solving skills required.
