Paving Foreman (Heavy Civil Construction)

Job Summary

Granite Construction is hiring a Paving Foreman to supervise asphalt paving crews and help deliver work safely, efficiently, and to project requirements.

Project Details

Lead asphalt paving operations on heavy civil construction projects, coordinating paving equipment, trucking, and material deliveries.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate crew schedules, materials, equipment, and work with project leadership.
• Oversee paving equipment setup and operation, and monitor mat thickness, grade, compaction, asphalt quality, and production.
• Manage trucking and material deliveries to support paving operations.
• Complete crew timecards, daily reports, logs, incident reports, and safety documentation.
• Lead crew communications and safety meetings, enforce company safety practices, and mentor crew members.
• Keep project management informed of delays, changes, and emergencies.

Required Experience

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 10 years of asphalt paving experience and 5 years in a foreman, supervisor, or lead-level role.
• Knowledge of asphalt paving methods, equipment, and materials.
• Valid driver's license.
• GPS grading and survey equipment experience, blueprint reading, and Microsoft Office knowledge are preferred.
• Ability to work day, swing, and night shifts, occasionally extended hours, and in varied weather and construction-zone conditions.
