Job Summary

Kiewit is seeking a mid-level Project Engineer to support the delivery of a complex industrial construction project in Point Pleasant. This role offers a path toward project management while providing mentorship and responsibility across field execution, project controls, documentation, and team coordination.

Project Details

The Kiewit Industrial District delivers projects in manufacturing, power, oil and gas, and chemical markets. This assignment is based in Point Pleasant, West Virginia, and requires travel and site presence for approximately two to three years.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret contract drawings and specifications, inspect field conditions, and resolve compliance or execution issues.
  • Maintain the master schedule and coordinate schedule inputs with project management.
  • Control drawing and contract-document revisions, assess changes, and communicate impacts to field personnel.
  • Prepare monthly cost forecasts and quarterly cash-flow projections.
  • Recommend operational improvements and coordinate project activities across multiple workstreams.
  • Lead, supervise, and train junior engineers and project staff.
  • Promote environmental health and safety requirements throughout project operations.

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, construction engineering, or an equivalent discipline.
  • Five to ten or more years of construction or engineering experience.
  • Experience managing engineers or project teams.
  • Ability to interpret engineering plans, specifications, and contract documents and identify discrepancies.
  • Working knowledge of project controls and scheduling practices.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, and Outlook.
  • Willingness to work overtime and weekends when project demands require it.

Compensation and Benefits

Base compensation is $116,000-$121,000 per year. Kiewit provides relocation assistance or per diem options for project assignments, along with medical, dental, vision, wellness, employee assistance, life and disability insurance, retirement plans with matching, and paid time off.
