Job Summary
Kiewit Power Delivery is seeking a senior Project Manager to lead complex engineering, procurement, and construction projects supporting electric utility infrastructure. The role owns delivery from project development through commissioning, turnover, and operational integration.
Project Details
Projects may include high-voltage transmission, distribution, substations, renewable energy interconnections, and related utility systems. Assignments are located across North America and may exceed $100 million in installed cost, with some projects exceeding $250 million.
Responsibilities
- Set execution, staffing, risk management, and project controls strategies.
- Lead engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and operations teams.
- Manage self-perform craft labor, subcontractors, construction managers, superintendents, and general foremen.
- Maintain accountability for safety, quality, schedule, budget, forecasting, cash flow, profitability, and client satisfaction.
- Oversee equipment procurement, vendor performance, design reviews, constructability, change management, and claims avoidance.
- Direct commissioning, startup, owner turnover, training, documentation, warranty management, and operational readiness.
- Lead project reviews, executive reporting, incident investigations, corrective actions, and recovery planning.
Required Experience
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, business, or a related field.
- At least 10 years of progressively responsible project management experience on major EPC or heavy civil/infrastructure projects.
- At least 5 years managing power delivery work involving transmission, distribution, substations, generation interconnections, or utility infrastructure.
- Experience leading projects with substantial self-perform labor alongside subcontracted work.
- Strong knowledge of EPC delivery, financial management, forecasting, project controls, contract administration, and multidisciplinary team leadership.
- PE license and PMP certification are preferred, along with experience in utility, renewable energy, power generation, or asset turnover.
Compensation and Benefits
Base salary is $179,000-$188,000 per year. Full-time employees receive medical, dental, vision, wellness, employee assistance, life and disability insurance, retirement plans with matching, and paid time off.
