Project Engineer 1

Job Summary

JE Dunn Construction is seeking an entry-level Project Engineer 1 in Kansas City to support construction project delivery, field operations, documentation, and project closeout.

Responsibilities

• Support safety, quality, estimating, change management, and construction management activities.
• Monitor crews, labor hours, materials, quantities, and equipment in the field.
• Assist with punch lists, inspections, safety and quality reviews, meetings, and project reporting.
• Maintain current drawings and specifications, procurement logs, shop drawing tracking, and delivery updates.
• Provide schedule and progress information to the project team.
• Support project closeout, including punch lists, operation and maintenance manuals, and as-built drawings.
• Build collaborative relationships with project teams, tradespeople, subcontractors, and field leadership while learning Lean practices and self-perform operations.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Entry-level construction experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively, work accurately and timely, use Microsoft Office, and collaborate with internal and external teams.
• Working knowledge of construction management fundamentals, construction technology, Lean principles, trades, self-perform work, and labor productivity.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in varied weather conditions with frequent standing, walking, climbing, bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
• Willingness to work non-traditional hours when project needs require it.
