Project Engineer 1, Mission Critical

Job Summary

JE Dunn is seeking an entry-level Project Engineer 1 to support construction execution for mission critical and advanced facilities projects in El Paso. The role offers hands-on exposure to project controls, field coordination, quality, safety, procurement, and closeout.

Project Details

The Advanced Facilities Group delivers data center, semiconductor, industrial, and manufacturing projects for innovative clients. This position works with project leadership and trade partners in a field-based construction environment.

Responsibilities

• Support field operations, self-perform activities, crew and equipment tracking, inspections, punch lists, and project documentation.
• Assist with estimating, quantity takeoffs, subcontractor proposal reviews, change management, and QA/QC planning.
• Maintain drawings, specifications, procurement logs, shop drawing tracking, and delivery updates.
• Prepare daily and weekly reports, manpower and production information, schedules, and progress updates.
• Coordinate project meetings and contribute to project closeout, including as-built drawings and operations and maintenance documentation.
• Apply construction fundamentals, Lean practices, safety expectations, and quality processes while collaborating with project teams and trade partners.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
• Entry-level construction experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with construction technology, means and methods, self-perform work, labor productivity, and Lean principles.
• Strong written and verbal communication, organization, accuracy, collaboration, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in variable weather and physically active site conditions.
