Project Engineer 2, Mission Critical

Job Summary

JE Dunn Construction is seeking a Project Engineer 2 to support mission critical construction projects — including data centers, semiconductor fabs, and industrial/manufacturing facilities — through its Advanced Facilities Group based in Kansas City, Missouri.

Project Details

The Advanced Facilities Group focuses on large-scale, cutting-edge construction in the Mission Critical, Advanced Industries, and Industrial & Manufacturing sectors, including data center and semiconductor projects nationwide.

Responsibilities

• Support project safety and quality plans, including toolbox talks and compliance culture.
• Assist with estimates, schedules, daily logs, and work plans.
• Pre-plan crew activities, maintain look-ahead schedules, and update the project superintendent.
• Manage procurement logs, track shop drawings, and coordinate deliveries.
• Participate in punch lists, city inspections, safety and quality reviews, and document preparation.
• Support project administration in CMiC and other company platforms.
• Coordinate subcontractor scope management and internal support functions.
• Prepare daily reports, weekly progress reports, manpower logs, and production schedules.
• Contribute to project closeout including as-built drawings, O&M manuals, and punch list completion.
• Mentor and support less experienced team members.

Required Experience

• 2+ years of construction experience.
• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with construction technology and CMiC a plus.
• Knowledge of Lean construction practices and self-perform work fundamentals.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across field and office teams.
